Hams Helping Hams: Building Your Shack with WN4RC

At the Upper Cumberland Amateur Radio Club (WN4RC), helping each other is what we do best. Whether you just earned your first license or you’ve been on the air for decades, you don’t have to build your ham shack alone.

Our members love a good project. Need help running coax, grounding your station, or sorting out why your SWR won’t behave? Someone in the club has been there and is happy to lend a hand. We’ll help you pick the right radio and accessories, lay out your operating position, and get everything talking the way it should.

And when it’s time to go up, we show up. Raising an antenna or a tower is much safer, and a lot more fun, with a crew of experienced hams on the job. From simple wire antennas and verticals to beams, masts, and full towers, our members bring the know-how, the tools, and the muscle to get your antenna in the air. We’ll talk through the plan with you beforehand, keep safety first on the day, and stick around until you make that first contact.

Ham radio is as much about community as it is about technology. When one of us builds something new, we all pitch in and celebrate when it works.

Ready to get your station on the air? Come to a club meeting, introduce yourself, and tell us what you’re working on. Chances are, we’ll bring the ladder.

73 from all of us at WN4RC!
