A Commitment to Preparedness
CERT Certification and WN4RC
One of the primary goals of the Upper Cumberland Neighborhood Radio Club (WN4RC) is to support our Upper Cumberland counties during both community events and disasters. To further enhance our ability to serve, we recognize the importance of becoming CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) certified.
The CERT program, offered by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency), provides volunteers with comprehensive disaster preparedness training. With standardized training nationwide, professional responders can confidently rely on CERT-certified volunteers to handle critical tasks during emergencies, enabling first responders to focus on more complex challenges.
In 2024, we set an exciting challenge for our members: to achieve CERT certification. By working together toward this goal, our team is better prepared to assist our community whenever the need arises. WN4RC members have been diligently completing the required training, which includes online coursework and a one-day in-person session to demonstrate learned skills.
If you’re passionate about making a difference and want to become CERT certified, we encourage you to join us in this mission! [Sign up here].
