Licensing Information
Getting your amateur radio license may seem intimidating, but it’s easier than you think! Plus, there’s no Morse code requirement since 2007. Follow these simple steps:
Get A FRN (FCC Registration Number)
Before taking the exam, you’ll need an FRN. This is free and required for all applicants. You can obtain it by registering at: https://apps.fcc.gov/cores/userLogin.do
Study For The Exam
There are plenty of excellent resources —books, videos, and websites are available to help you prepare. If you feel overwhelmed, reach out to us, and we’ll point you in the right direction.
Take Practice Exams
The FCC exam uses an official question pool, so practicing with free sites like the ARRL Exam Review or QRZ Ham Test will prepare you for the real test. Aim for regular scores above 80% before taking the exam.
