Hello, and welcome to the online home of WN4RC, the Upper Cumberland Neighborhood Amateur Radio Club! My name is Randy Bolin, and I’m honored to serve as the president of this vibrant community of radio enthusiasts, tinkerers, communicators, and lifelong learners.
Ham radio has always been more than just a hobby—it’s a way to connect, create, and contribute. Whether it’s exchanging stories with someone halfway across the globe, stepping up during emergencies to provide critical communication, or simply exploring the boundless joys of amateur radio technology, there’s something truly special about what we do. At WN4RC, we’re all about keeping that spark alive.
This club is a place where seasoned operators and newcomers alike come together to share knowledge, spark curiosity, and build lasting friendships. Whether you’re a licensed operator with decades of experience or someone just curious about what “CQ” or “DX” means, we’re here to welcome you with open arms.
Here’s what you can look forward to:
- Monthly Meetings & Workshops: Dive into engaging discussions, technical demos, and hands-on projects designed to inspire and inform.
- Field Days: Experience the thrill of setting up portable stations, honing your skills, and showing the world what ham radio operators are capable of.
- Community Outreach: From emergency preparedness efforts to school demonstrations, we’re passionate about using our skills to make a difference.
- Friendly Contests & Nets: Brush up on your operating skills and connect with members, both near and far.
I truly believe that the strength of our club lies in its members—each one of you brings unique experiences, perspectives, and ideas to the table. Together, we form a community that not only celebrates the art and science of radio but also the friendships and connections that make it all worthwhile.
As we look to the future, I encourage you to get involved. Attend a meeting, join a net, or simply reach out to say hello. Whether you’re here to learn, teach, or just have a little fun, there’s a place for you at WN4RC.
Let’s keep the airwaves alive and thriving. Here’s to good signal reports, great friendships, and an even greater adventure ahead. See you on the bands!
73,
Randy Bolin
President, WN4RC
