Here’s a concise recap of the WN4RC club meeting held on July 16, 2026.
Lebanon Hamquest
- Strong club turnout and great community engagement.
- Attendance appeared lighter than last year.
- Sales were minimal, but overall participation was positive.
Club Fundraiser: Meshcore 1W Radios
- We will be selling custom WN4RC‑branded units using 1 watt Wehooper radios, Muzi Works antennas, and a custom 3d printed case.
- Pricing structure:
- Base unit: $99
- Assembled (stock color): $119
- Custom color: +$5
- NOTE: UV‑5R belt clips fit these units and are available from Amazon.
- Radios and options will be added to the club website.
Increasing Club Participation & Excitement Ideas discussed:
- POTA activations.
- Field‑Day‑style outings at local parks for fun, fellowship, and getting new operators on the air.
- Occasional online meetings.
- New‑operator onboarding: hands‑on radio time and guided practice.
- 1:1 Elmer sessions (“come to my shack and operate”).
- Radio BBQ at Randy’s.
Important: Activities must be planned and announced well in advance. Tim suggested selecting three key initiatives and focusing on those.

80m Voice Net
- We will be starting a new weekly net.
- Tuesdays at 8:00 PM on Primary 3.810, Secondary 3.910, and Backup 3.855.
- Evans will send out announcements and add the net to the website calendar.
Other Notes
- Randy will be unavailable for the September meeting.
- Interest in expanding collaboration with TTU.
