How to subscribe your Google calendar to the WN4RC events calendar

Use the calendar’s feed address: https://wn4rc.com/?cc_feed=1. Google Calendar subscribes to it by address, on a computer.

1. Open Google Calendar on a computer: go to calendar.google.com. The phone app can’t add this kind of calendar.
2. Start the subscription: next to “Other calendars” in the left column, click the +, then choose From URL.
3. Paste the address: https://wn4rc.com/?cc_feed=1 (use https://, not webcal://).
4. Add it: click Add calendar. The events appear in a few minutes, and the calendar shows in the left column under “Other calendars”. It also appears in the Google Calendar app on your phone once it syncs.

Good to know:

• Updates: Google refreshes subscribed calendars on its own schedule, usually every several hours up to about a day. New or changed events are not instant.
• Read-only: you can see the events but can’t edit them from Google. Changes are made in WordPress.
• Subscribe button: the one on the calendar page uses a webcal: link meant for Apple Calendar and Outlook. Google ignores it, so paste the address as above.
• Single category: add &category=slug to the address, for example https://wn4rc.com/?cc_feed=1&category=meetings. Use the category’s slug from Martek Calendar > Event Categories.
